--------- In the attributes panel there´s an option called "User data" where one can additional values to a tag.
Is it possible to retrieve that data with coffee?
I´m looking for a way to add custom data that can later be read by an export script. Maybe there´s another (better) way to do this?
Thanks, Florian

No, not in C.O.F.F.E.E. You could create a custom tag to do this...

You could create a custom tag to do this... that doesn´t work, unfortunately, not even with GetID. And even if it worked, it is still questionable, if it is possible to add a dialog to the tag via coffee. So, the only solutions seems to be to let the PlugIn watch for events and open a dialog when selection changes.

See the other thread for the tag issue. As long as the right events are there I guess that's fine, but you should know that the set of available events is pretty small.

Before I switched to c++ I had the same problem. I solved it this way: userdata -> XPresso -> object name -> coffee. means: If you only have a couple of parameters you may read them with an XPresso-Expression and code it into the object's name (e.g.: "male_30_175"). Your coffee-expression then can decode the name string to values.

well, now I know how to make custom tags and can do it that way, but using XPresso to change the name, if certain values are set can be very helpful as well!
