I need to add a point cache tag to an object and edit it's parameters. Is the point cache tag class accessible in C++? I can't seem to find it.

You have to access the description elements using the descriptions given in the .res/.h files for Tcageomcache which is found in the resource/modules/ca/description folder within the Cinema 4D install. The tag has no ID listed in the descriptions or documentation, the ID is never printed in the script log when adding or modifying the tag in the UI, and no enumeration listed in tag types.
Is there a way to add this tag to an object through code?

I created a simple plugin that opens a dialog with a link box that you can drop things into. It then shows the ID number for anything, especially good for items that don't have a named ID.
C4DAtom::GetType() is what you use to get that ID number.
