Hi everybody
I've been trying to create a Python script that looks up the content of a specific folder and creates xrefs based on these contents. I can create dynamic (empty) Xrefs, but programmatically specifying a file to load (c4d or obj) inside the Xref object seems to have absolutely no effect. I read about a few limitations in C4D's Python API regarding Xrefs. Any ideas on how to reach my goal?
Best, Michael

Hi Michael,
I'm afraid it's not currently possible to set the file for an XRef object. Actually the issue isn't related to XRef objects. The real limitation is that Filename parameters cannot be set. We're aware of it and we'll try to fix it ASAP.

Hi Yannick
Sad to hear that. Can you estimate what "ASAP" means? Will you fix it not only for the latest version of C4D but also older ones?
Looking forward to reading from you.
Cheers!

I cannot disclose any information on what will be included in future service updates. But what I can say is that we don't backport fixes to past releases of Cinema 4D, sorry.
