    Hi,

I hate XCode. :-) My XCode gives me an error that is soooo unnecessary. Check it out:

"Function defined but not used" Warning

Why the hell does he give me this warning? Is XCode so stupid?

Ok, so my question is, how do I turn off this silly warning message. I mean where can I define what is considered to be a warning and what is not?

    Thanks in advance :-)

What I really hate is the linker! Although the lib is added to the project and not the lib project, every once in a while it gets the gumption to start recompiling the lib! I hate that. And then there is 'ranlib'. This should be a command in XCode so that you just select the lib and hit a menu item (or rmb menu item).

Right click on the Target (under Targets) and select "Get Info". This opens the Target Info window. Go to the Build tab. Go To Collection drop-down and select Warnings under "GNU C/C++ Compiler 4.0". If none of the available warnings match, there might still be an option that can be added to "Other Warning Flags". You'll need to get hold of the man pages for gcc or check in the XCode vast docs.

ETA: There is an "Inhibit All Warnings" option. Though I'd be careful here as some warnings are, well, warnings to be heeded. Might be best to toggle this off once in a while to keep your code honest. :)

Thanks Kuro. Yes, I also noticed this with the linker! Absolutely disastreous. :-)

Thanks for the description. I will try all that!
