Is there any way to retrieve or calculate how long distance is travelad by a ray until it hits an opaque surface? Something like Z depth stored in VPFragment but not limited to the first encountered surface. It would be perfect to have it inside the videopost.

I can't find this information anywhere within BaseVolumeData. However, it should be easy to calculate using TraceGeometry(), accumulating the distance along the way, possibly checking for opaqueness using GetSurfaceData().
