---------With the register function one can specify the disklevel of a plugin. Is it only possible to get it within the read/write functions, or can I get the disklevel of any object/shader by a function call?

If you get the corresponding BasePlugin with GetFirstPlugin() + linear search, then you can get the NODEPLUGIN structure with GetPluginStructure() and check the disklevel member.
